One of our clients has a lifelong love for travel and has been all over the world for pleasure and for work.
Alaska is commonly recognized as a “once-in-a-lifetime trip.” This client had never been and better yet – one of his daughters lives there.
After a conversation with his daughter where she said “I would so love it if Dad could come visit,” it became apparent; we needed to plan a trip to Alaska.
We started to plan and look through the airline options, the accessibility needs, and the timeline. Before too long, it came together and we traveled to beautiful Alaska. He got to spend time with his daughter, and my family got to come, too!
Moments like this are so important to me, as a human and as a Gerontologist.
So many times in my career I’ve been around aging adults who are told “no, that can’t happen” or “that’s too risky.”
