How We Help Our Clients Graduate

A board walk in the woods through the trees.

Nothing better communicates our services than sharing real life stories of working with our clients

At our best, we want to work our way out of a client. The best we can do is to give people the tools they need to live full lives.

When this happens, there is a kind of graduation day! A day where people go back to their normal routines and beyond. But when this happens, people sometimes disappear from our lives.

Recently, one of our first clients saw me at a social event. I almost didn’t recognize him. A man who was once bed bound and had no options except to go into a nursing home, had transformed back into a well groomed and respected individual.

We first came in contact with him because his daughter reached out to us. At the time he needed therapy that the facility couldn’t provide, and a twice-a-day wound dressing change that home health nor family could complete.

When we started working together, I got him a hospital bed in his home. From there we established home PT and OT. We decided it was necessary for me to visit twice a day for eight weeks to attend to medications, communicate with his medical team, and assess him daily.

As his condition improved, the problems that we were solving were constantly changing. He got better and stronger. He soon got his life back.

It wasn’t until I saw him that I realized that sometimes the service we provide is truly giving someone their life back. By life I mean grandkids, vacations, and freedom.

Sometimes we can go right to the line of death, and turn around at the last moment and add REAL time to someone’s life.
